Week 2 of Program.<br \/>\nThe Grade 5\/6 students started last week and they absolutely love it.<br \/>\nThe Student Experts are relishing the opportunity to be a teacher assistant and are very enthusiastic about introducing the program.<br \/>\nUnfortunately, I haven't actually taken a class yet (I was at another PD the day the Grade 5\/6 students started), but the feedback so far has been fantastic. I have students who I do not even know come up to me before school, lunch and recess and make absolutely positive and excited comments. In particular, I had 2 students approach me on the morning of the program and state &quot;we are going to be doing Cosmic Blobs today&quot;. Talk about being excited about your learning! Staff have also been very enthusiastic about the program and have installed it on their notebooks so that they can undertake their own professioanl learning (and play!)to make sure they are up to speed with their students! Wed 17th Sept.  Week 2 of Program.<br \/>\nI started the same way we had the program introduced to us.  The students completed the Koala Tutorial and then spent the rest of the session exploring and having some &quot;sand pit time&quot;.  <br \/>\nThe second lesson involves creating the Fish Blob.  I photocopied directly from the manual to provide instructions for the students.  I will need to edit any future lessons from the manual, because I know I encountered some difficulty with some manual lesson instructions during the training.  I will email anything I create to everyone.<br \/>\nI haven't had the opportunity to speak to the Grade 5\/6 teachers about a way I can integrate the program into their curriculum. Planning week is scheduled for Week 1 next term.  The students will be learning about Canberra\/Federal Government in Term 4, so I probably will need to link this to another concept, such as science.
